When the chorus kicks in on “Dance Yerself Clean,” the This Is Happening opener, you can’t help but get spastic!  For real…the song does everything in it’s power, to make you want to dance.  Wherever I’m at in the apartment, even scrubbing a toilet bowl, I start bopping my head, and commence to pop and lock.  But, then I also want to sing… and scream, just like James.  James Murphy is the so-called genius behind this dancey pop music, that a nation of loyal followers have come to love.  The novelty of LCD Soundsystem is packing big beefy beats in with catchy melodies, that you just can’t get enough of.  Not that this type of thing hasn’t been attempted before, but LCD has perfected this type of pop, and the rest are simply imitators.  You want to move and sing, dance and scream, and LCD will have you doing just that, on their 2010 release, This Is Happening. “I Can Change” is my second favorite tune on the album with its great falsetto, and hooky chorus, and “Pow Pow” is just a track of mindless dance fun.  I can’t explain why this album is so amazing, but I can lead you to the water for a drink.  Go get this record and move, dammit!
