A New Nightmare

A New Nightmare
The Nightmare on Lincoln

“Nothing to see here folks, move along!”  So yesterday I worked all 13 hours of my double shift and was rushing home to meet a friend of mine to jam.  As if I wasn’t tired, sweaty, and crabby enough, I was stopped in my tracks by some production geek telling me I couldn’t cross at the moment because “they” were filming a key scene.  Huh?  “Who’s doing what?  I just live across the street and want to get home!!!”  The geek said “I’m sorry but I can’t let you through!”  After arguing back and forth, standing with a bunch of other locals who were also hot and desperate to get home, I was told they were shooting scenes for the new “Nightmare On Elm Street.”  Yes, that is the reason I couldn’t get home and had to wait 10 minutes!  Needless to say it was annoying, and they wouldn’t even let us shoot pictures!?  But since I was in no mood to be told no, I shot one:)!  They were pissed, I was laughing, but in the end, there was really nothing to see there.  Just a lot of semis full of equipment, young dudes who thought they might get a surprise roll in the film if they hung out or worked for schillings as part of the production team, and a couple of bright lights.  I did like the new Friday the 13th, so maybe this new nightmare will be cool.

Lots of semis with equipment...
Lots of semis with equipment…

That’s my rant, Cut-Kid-Out!

BTW, when I woke up hours later the semis were gone, along with the crew…but there was a weird picture on my phone, do you think I dreamt it?  Maybe it was a “Nightmare On My Street,”  like DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince once had?  We’ll never know!!!!!!!
