Welcome, come in and sit down…

These Will Never Make the Cut Out Bins! Please touch the merchandise, after all, I am very proud of my finds and want to share them with you. You see, I am the Cut Out Bin Kid, and I scour your local record stores looking for those “diamonds in the rough.” I loathe the “big box” Best Buy stores, because they are sterile and boring, and completely overpriced. They have found a way to suck the life from the local record stores that actually have heart & soul, and personality. They have destroyed the same record stores that I use to hang out in, chatting up the men/women behind the counter about that hottest new music, and rummaging through their endless cut out bins, looking for something new to satiate my music addiction. But I did not start this to complain, but rather embellish in my latest and greatest discoveries, and let you know that there are some great record stores left. Those last great bastions are where I continue my search for that lost artifact. That is why I started this blog, I had to share my enthusiasm for the thrill of the hunt, and the joy in finding a great record for an incredible price. There is nothing like finding a copy of Wheat’s “Per Second…” for $3, or a promo of Self’s first record for a buck!? How about the debut disc by Chris Isaac for $1, or an out of print Dino Jr classic for $5. It’s like dumpster diving for music fans, especially all the fans who have paid $15-20 per CD over the last 15 years, this blog is for you. I’m all about musicians making money, as I am a musician. But, I sold my soul as a teenager, driving a beater just so I could check out the flavor of the month, meanwhile hawking their latest record and tour shirt. Now I still get the music I love, but at the price I want, or close. I do have to put in work, but therein lies fun. Hello world, it’s nice to meet you, I am the Cut Out Bin Kid, let’s begin our journey…
