What can I say? These little bloodsuckers deserved the top honors, but were nudged down a spot, by the Local Natives, to #2. This album plays like ten hit singles, back to back. It brings back the pop sentiments of Paul Simon, and the punkiness of the Clash, while throwing in their own fresh twists and turns along the way. The vocals are astonishing; from sweet high notes and harmonies, to fast rap like flourishes. The instrumentation borders on world music, and toes the line of indie rock. This record is brilliant! Possibly one of the best records of the decade!
