“Pump yer breaks kid, or leave me alone!” Love the way this tune starts out, especially that phrase! First it intros with this great droning guitar riff, while this killer drum beat almost hypnotizes, putting you into a lull. By the time the vocals drop, you can feel the swagger spilling out all over you. All these tiny flourishes make this tune by Amazing Baby work too well. It sounds almost Brit Pop, like the Roses, Mondays, or one of the other bands from that 90’s Madchester scene. There is something retro about the tune that also reminds me of Kula Shaker as these guys tinker with that Indian sound on a good portion of this album. Are you feeling psychedelic?

“Headdress” is another great tune and video where they almost channel the Candy Skins and sound like Urge Overkill for a split second. Either way, they definitely have a Brit Pop sound, but they hail from Brooklyn, so who knows how to pin these boys down? Point is you can’t really, they are making some new noise, and it’s worth checking out. I hear the live show is killa’, and they are swinging by Scubas in mid September.
